Ohio Geological Survey Accepting Applications for Geologist 2 (Hydrogeologist)
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), Division of Geological Survey is seeking a Geologist 2 (hydrogeologist) to join its Groundwater Resources Group. This group constitutes a critical component of the Division and its efforts to monitor, map, and report on Ohio’s groundwater resources. Projects include monitoring water levels, analyzing historic water well log data, mapping surficial geology, conducting hydrological research and groundwater flow mapping, and collecting water samples and data.
The successful candidate should be skilled at critical thinking, geologic mapping, and using statistical analysis methods and be adept at conducting research using geologic literature and publications, collecting new and historical field data, and interacting with the public and other government agencies.
Some duties inherent to the Geologist 2 (hydrogeologist) position may require travel or overnight travel. The geologist also may be exposed to unpleasant weather conditions &/or dangerous machinery.

The ODNR Division of Geological Survey is the state’s oldest natural resources agency, established by the state legislature in 1837 as the Geological Survey of Ohio. Commonly referred to as the Ohio Geological Survey, the Division has been in continuous operation since 1900 and is one of the seven originally chartered divisions of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, which was created by the legislature in 1949.
